Practical Pedagogical Tips from a Suzuki Perspective
"As a registered Suzuki teacher trainer I have studied the Suzuki method for approximately 35 years. I have found the philosophy inspiring and the correlation of music learning and the "mother tongue" intriguing. I will share with you how to incorporate Suzuki principles in traditional teaching of students of all ages and abilities."

Minimusic (Workshop)
Make the most of group lessons with young beginners, ages 5 to 7. Explore the Minimusic program, an early childhood introduction to music theory. This program helps young students develop a solid foundation in basic music theory prior to any formal music lessons, giving them a great advantage in all future music study and performance.

New this year! SCMTA is pleased to sponsor student research in the form of poster sessions at the 2012 State Conference. Students from around South Carolina have been selected through a competitive process to present their academic research in the form of poster containing the details and results of their projects. The posters and student authors will be available to talk with attendees and answer questions about their research projects during a scheduled hour. Please take a few moments to stop by the designated tables and see what is new in student research!
