SCMTA Organized in 1960, SCMTA has long been affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association. Our non-profit organization serves as the professional organization for independent and collegiate music teachers from around our great state. SCMTA is dedicated to promoting the art of music teaching and performance through its programs offered both at the state level and within each of the local chapters.

SCMTA has over 300 members and seven local associations, as well as three collegiate chapters. Our annual conference features nationally known artists and clinicians, as well as performances from many of the talented students around our state. SCMTA also sponsors competitions and state auditions annually. In addition to sponsoring various festivals, competitions, and recitals, each local association holds meetings for its members on a frequent basis where well-known clinicians are featured.
