District Auditions
District Auditions will take place annually during the spring semester throughout the state. Detailed District Auditions information will be announced here below. Teachers who enter students should plan to assist with the auditions that day.

Students scoring "Outstanding" at District Auditions, will be eligible for State Auditions. All registrations must be completed on-line. Application deadlines will be announced every year. For more details, see the event on the calendar.

District IV (Greenwood/Anderson) will go to District I (Greenville)

District VI (Aiken) will go to District V (Columbia)

Piano auditions take place in each of the seven districts. Only those who earn the Outstanding rating at the District level are eligible to participate in the State Auditions.

Any teacher desiring a student to participate in a District Audition outside of the teacher’s district must gain approval of the Chair in the district in which he/she resides as well as the approval of the Chair in the district in which the student will participate. If approved, the regular Chair will send the application to the new Chair. The application must be submitted by the deadline date of the originating district.

State Auditions are held in early spring, 3-5 weeks after the District Auditions.

At the State Auditions, Outstanding students in both Solo and Concerto categories from Divisions I, II, III, and IV will be chosen by the judges to perform on an Honors Recital. Participants will be notified by the Pre-College State Audition Chairperson and given a time limit for their performance on this recital.
Vocal/Instrumental
Vocal and Instrumental auditions will be virtual. The video links must be included during the registration process. The application deadline is April 4, 2026. For more details, see the event on the calendar.

Depending on participation levels, non-piano events will be single round only coinciding with State Auditions

Each instrumental category will be located in a different district for efficiency in facility use and adjudication.

Soloists and alternates will be selected, and winners invited to participate in the state honors recital.
